For $1.2 million, we love this simple home tucked into Portland’s Northwest Heights area.  Skybox was designed in 2005 by the founder of Krownlab, makers of some pretty amazing door pulls, sliders and other hardware, this home might actually be attainable my mere mortals like us.  You can check out a full gallery and a bit more background on the home here.

Stepping up a bit in price, if you have $5.8 million burning a hole in your pocket, you might want to consider this modern Clyde Hill, WA masterpiece with mid-century echoes resonating throughout.  Designed by reknowned architect and humanitarian Rex Hohlbein, this jaw-dropping property features perfect indoor/outdoor harmony and water views.

Houston, TX

Everything’s bigger in Texas, or so the story goes.  At $35 million, the House of Ki, by Stern and Bucek features  15,000 square feet on over 8 acres of property including a 5-acre wetland nature preserve. You can read more about this awesome structure here.  (One fun fact – the foundation alone was a $1 million project.)
