The Modern Architecture + Design Society (more on that in just a moment) and Goodlife Luxury are pleased to announce the return of the Austin Modern Home Tour for 2017.
But first, some other exciting news: this past summer, we (Modern Home Tours) became the Modern Architecture + Design Society (MA+DS) – a new multi-media property that expands our home tour offerings and brings us closer to fulfilling our core mission: to create a vibrant, global community of modern architecture and design enthusiasts. While our Austin Modern Home Tour remains the same great home tour experience it has always been, our larger goal is to provide multiple platforms that inspire engagement with the people, places, and things that define the “modern” movement and lifestyle. When a MA+DS reader clicks on a picture on our website, reads a Q&A on our blog, or explores a living space on one of our tours, we hope to deliver a unique experience and opportunity to enrich the collective appreciation of modern architecture, design, and style. We experimented with this last year at our (sold out!) Sunday Extension program, and we’re looking to offer expanded offerings again this year. Now, on to the 2017 Tour!
The 9th annual Austin Modern Home Tour is set to take place on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. If you’ve been emailed a link to this page, this is your official invitation to join us and be a part of 2017’s exciting event!
As you know, our tours give residents of Austin a rare chance to see a selection of the amazing residential projects completed by architects right in their area. The Austin Modern Home Tour is self-driven and self-paced, and it is a wonderful opportunity for architects, builders, and designers to show off their work to architecture and design enthusiasts that would otherwise have no way of seeing the impressive work.
The Austin Modern Home Tour is a collaborative effort between Goodlife Luxury and the Modern Architecture + Design Society. It is the cornerstone MA+DS Home Tour and the kick-off event of the year, and it is by far our most popular tour; we receive dozens of applications and cater to 1,000+ visitors.
We will be limiting the number of participants to just 12 homes for the 2017 Modern Home Tour. We will accept a maximum of only three (3) ‘for sale’ homes. There will be two rounds of acceptance for this year’s (rather than first-come-first served):
Round One, “Early Acceptance” – Deadline: Friday, December 2nd. Chosen homes will be notified by Friday, December 9th, 2016. Please note – Early Acceptance homes have a much greater chance of being featured in promotional media.
Extended Deadline: Friday, January 13th, 2017. Chosen homes will be notified by January 20th, 2017.
After the first two rounds, we will review and accept “For Sale” homes. Remaining positions will be filled as applications are received.
There is a small participation fee of $500 per property to cover operational costs; in turn, all participants are listed as sponsors of the event. We do offer a limited amount of premium sponsorship packages, with additional exposure, for $1,000 per property. These opportunities are given on a first-come first-serve basis. “For Sale” homes incur an additional $300 fee.
We will handle the organization and logistics, as well as the marketing and press for the tour. An FAQ is below that outlines the items for which participants are responsible (i.e. a small table for staff on the day of the tour, help promoting the tour, staff inside the homes, etc.).

Your application will be reviewed and, if selected, we will follow up with a welcome email and further logistics and information for 2017 Austin Modern Home Tour.
